Worship & Arts Ministry
Be a part of leading corporate worship on Sundays. Make new friends, sing great music and participate in special choral events. Discover opportunities for preschoolers through adults! There is a place for everyone in the Worship & Arts Ministry of Brookwood.
Worship at Brookwood is more than music, more than a gathering, more than an hour or so on Sunday morning. Worship is our lifestyle response to God and how much we value and give worth to Him. Our corporate and private worship of God is our church's first ministry priority.
The Sanctuary Choir is a vibrant, worshiping community that features a family of friends desiring to use their abilities to honor God. We are worship leaders in our Traditional services, in special worship concerts, and in seasonal presentations.
Weekly rehearsal: Wednesdays from 6:30-7:45 p.m.
You can contact Keith McLeod with any questions concerning the choir; or just come visit one of our rehearsals. Rehearsals are held in the choir room at the back of the fellowship hall on the First floor.
The Worship Choir meets, throughout the year to provide occasional music for our Contemporary worship service. This group of talented musicians and singers periodically joins with the Sanctuary Choir to perform the seasonal works. Rehearsals are usually held on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 p.m.
Youth Praise Band
Our students meet each Wednesday night for a time of worship called, Yearn. They are led by a Praise Band of passionate young musicians and singers. The group frequently joins the Worship choir to lead the Contemporary service. Openings for this group are filled by interview and audition.
Preschoolers, ages 3 yrs - Kindergarten, experience praise, worship, music, movement, instruments, and fun during the months of September through December on Wednesdays from 6:00 p.m. - 6:55 p.m.
Children's Christmas Choir
Children, grades 1st - 5th, work on a musical drama which begins the Christmas season at Brookwood. These yearly musicals have fun-to-learn songs that bring home the true meaning of Christmas. The production includes drama, choreography and set work. Rehearsals are September through December on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. - 6:55 p.m.
Worship is our number one passion. We have many talented individuals who add to the worship experience through instrumental music. Opportunities include orchestral ensembles, solo instrumental, and contemporary worship bands that lead our contemporary and youth worship services.
Brookwood Orchestral Ensemble & Praise Band
If you play an instrument and have a desire to use your talent for God, Brookwood has a place for you. We enjoy employing an orchestra in our worship experience and use solo and small ensembles throughout the year in our traditional worship service. In seasonal productions and special presentations we use larger orchestral groups.
Our Praise Band provides music each week in the contemporary service. We use a wide range of styles in the worship experience and call on our band to set the tone each week for dynamic worship. Openings for this group are filled by audition.
We have two adult groups that meet weekly to prepare music for two distinct ministries:
- The Joyful Ringers, meet on Wednesday mornings and prepare selections to be performed on visits to local nursing homes and retirement centers.
- The Sunday Adult Handbells, meet on Sunday afternoons to prepare selections for the traditional worship services.
Openings are filled by interview.
