Rio Mission 2026 - Day 1

31Aug

Monday was the first day of clinics. We saw patients both in the morning and the afternoon. This was the very first time our group had worked with this church in this area of Brazil.

We were able to ride our large van close to the area and were then dropped off to walk a short distance to the church and clinic, where we finished setting up what had been started on Saturday by the team that arrived earlier.

Sharon Fairchild reminded us that obstacles would be placed in our way; however, the Lord would go before us, beside us, and behind us. And indeed, He showed up.

We were welcomed with amazing hospitality by the church workers and our local interpreters. The community members who came for dental, medical, or eye screenings were so appreciative and grateful, but most of all, joyful with the love they received from each individual.

The best way I can describe the day is simply to say that my heart is full. Thank you for all of your prayers and financial support, but most of all, for your long-term commitment to this Rio ministry.

Here are just a few pictures of what we were blessed to experience today.
