Arrived on site Tuesday morning to find there was no electricity, so we began contingency plans. Moved the eye clinic upstairs, only to have the power come back on. What a sense of humor our God has.
The eye clinic was steady all day, giving glasses for reading and distance. Just come see me at church, and I will be happy to fit you for readers. Just kidding. But it has been such a joy to provide glasses for people who wanted to read and, most importantly, to read the Bible.
General medicine and peds were busy taking care of both adults and children. Dr. Hamm may be the expert now in diagnosing hernias.
Dental was upstairs, so I did not see what all was happening, but I do know there were close to 40 extractions. Lots of children came down showing off their new toothbrushes.
Dinner was at The Treehouse, and we celebrated Maddox’s birthday.
Wednesday was another great day. Lots of sunshine welcomed us into the clinic. Sharon always gives a devotional, and the Brazilian team leads a praise song. Keith, we may need to recruit some of our friends in Brazil to come sing in the choir with us. And then the floodgates open.
Lots of precious friends waiting to be seen by all of the different clinics.
Jennifer and Lynne are rocking the pharmacy. They will interview Clayton Hamm for a possible opening next year.
Stacey was able to lead a woman to Christ today after hearing her life’s journey of sadness and hardships.
Too many stories to share, but memories to last a lifetime.
