Living Hope at Christmas: Day 9

26Dec

Hello to all!

Today, was the last day of Holiday Club at Overcome. We started the day with the much needed amazing breakfast at Sacred Mountain. Yesterday, we were able to drive through the townships which is where the children live. This was very eye opening to me to see how joyful these kids are coming from these broken homes. The relationships we have been able to make with these kids through this short period has been nothing but incredible.

We always begin holiday club with a devotion which was led today by Louis. This time is always special because it allows us to really focus on the word before we begin our day working with the kids. We then had a great last day which consisted of many games, praise and worship, and craft time. The leaders and teen helpers have been amazing throughout the week, and we have really been able to see the impact they have on these kids. We had a very special prayer and goodbye time with the leaders and helpers, where we could really feel the Lord’s presence.

We are now back at Sacred Mountain where we will have burgers and fries for our last dinner! Austin and Kelsey are coming to hangout and play our beloved Mafia after dinner, so we are very much looking forward to that. Our time here has been amazing and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. We have seen God work in such beautiful ways through Living Hope. Oh! And how can I forget! Louis is coming back engaged!
